Ignite Your Force

Hello everyone, I’m Evana and am here to celebrate life’s journey with you. Most people I know say things like “I’ve always wanted to…” and would love to not have any regrets at the end of their lives.

We are here to create experiences and memories while maintaining positive, healthy relationships. Are we igniting our own passion as we were meant to?” Are we using some of our time focusing on those things that make us feel most alive? Are we creating joy for ourselves and those around us?

We all know that answer. You will know by the shape of your lips in the morning.

Everyone has a passion, something that makes them tick, gets them excited. That passion is best shared so that others can be inspired as well. I have found my passion in writing and enjoy life long learning, nature, music, the arts and inspiring others.

My first writing was inspired by fairy tales and when I was five or six, my mother told me that she caught me in the closet writing stories. I am a lover of words and all art forms of expressions. Here at Evanalife, I will share my writing by creating articles, adding poetry and presenting some of my favorite quotes from myself and others.

Most importantly, I created this blog site for everyone because I have a deep yearning for helping people ignite their own flame that can set the world on fire. Therefore, I welcome all readers to share their stories about what makes them tick. In addition, I will be talking to already established writers, musicians and artists to find out what stimulated them to do what they do.

To accomplish this, I will be writing about various forms of expression starting with writing itself. For some, inspiration comes through a hardship, a change in life, a mentor that changed your life, an illness, moments of awe and wonder, a travel experience or an encounter with art, books or music. For others, memories of childhood and seeing through your younger self’s eyes again is of great help.

Set The World On Fire

~by Evana

Go, do, pursue,

find what’s inside  –

can’t keep it locked up,

needs out of the cup,

don’t wait ’till times’ up.

Find that what you feel,

believe that it’s real,

it’s you that needs out,

without any doubt.

Never stop pursuing growth,

Never take anyone for granted,

Always do what you love,

No regrets.

Yours truly,

 Evana

The Song of Life

Photo by Elianne Dipp on Pexels.com

Together, May We Grow Bolder

Life can be a tragedy, or a melody,

a treasurehowever you think it

so shall it be. It’s meant to be –

a pleasure.

Our life is brief and time’s a thief,

no one knows how long –

think with your heart,

be conscious of your part,

live like a beautiful song.

Be a blessing for those stressing –

a stronghold for those weary of soul.

Find what you want, then set your goal

and believe it to be true.

Pray to the Lord your mind will clear,

and stillness takes control.

The love you seek you’ll find within,

a powerful glow –

believe it to be true,

and the miracle will be YOU!

Peace and Love,

Evana.

The Real You is Truth

E-coli, Corona, Ebola, West Nile,

What world do we live in,

or has it gone wild?

I know not what’s next but

the smile on my face,

no reason to dread

or be a sad case.

Today in this world

that’s uncommonly nuts,

the unknowns quadrupled

in size and mistrust.

Each day in this world

is ours to create –

breathe deep and take in

all lessons that shape –

a beautiful sculpture of

heroes with capes.

As day comes to end

to a sweet evening glow,

I hope you succeeded

in helping others know,

we are all connected

above and below,

may God’s love surround you

like an invisible glow.

Fear is an Untruth

In today’s world, fear is all around us and a commonplace, yet it is not real. Fear is a purely imagined “worst case scenario” that hasn’t happened, is untrue and inauthentic. Those trained by the military and other service men and women are taught to stay calm during times of crisis. People who panic are those most vulnerable.

Living with fear continuously is a recipe for disaster and affects our mental capacity to absorb new information. This fear develops into becoming impulsive and emotional which leads to being negative in judging and decision making. Instead of being safer with fear, it actually weakens our immune systems.

Anytime you experience fear think about whether it’s true, then think of the actual truth (reality) by imagining the “best case scenario” and how that will feel. Enjoy the feeling of faith and trust by doing the best you can and leaving the rest to God.

Let go and let God.

Many blessings,

Evana.

Ready To Rise and Release

Feeling fine,

like the river divine,

a bit sad of eye,

a little shy,

but full of hope,

and wanting to thrive,

I am alive.

Want no disguise and

nothing to hide,

out of the shadows

into the crowd,

what a ride.

Singing loudly

and oh so proud,

I am alive.

The waves are in a storm right now,

it’s not my favorite norm at all,

when it’s over I will rise,

I am alive.

Work With Your Emotions

To Release Them

According to Matt James, PhD in his “Ready to Release” article in Psychology Today, our emotions carry purpose and wisdom. As we all experience positive and negative emotions he suggests us to begin “working with” our emotions instead of hiding them in order to release them. He feels that using the well known expression of “controlling” them could actually be misinterpreted as beating them into submission.

Many of us hide our emotions especially the negative ones and even if we might think “out of sight, out of mind,” these emotions are still there and working on causing all types of problems as they manifest mentally and physically. Many of these can be held in resentment, anger, hostility, fear, guilt and regrets. Some people hold onto things so long, they might not even know what they’re holding onto anymore.

In his research, James found a great example of the 19th century Hawaiians and their vastly different approach to releasing emotions. As the Westerners were arriving, the ancient Hawaiians were in fact almost devoid of mental and physiological disease. How is this possible? This is because the Hawaiians work with their “unihipili,” (trans. “little creature/a little self inside you = our unconscious mind).

In a nutshell, our emotions that are stored within us collect, and once they surface, they will be expressed and worked through so that they can be released. This relieves stress, repressed emotions and memories.

A Sky Full Of Stars

In a rowboat alone on a deep, dark night

with a sky full of stars

magically aligned,

I let myself go in a dreams lullaby,

taken by such vast beauty through these eyes,

dreaming about all earths miracles,

waking up with a cry –

all of nature moves me!,

without nature,

we die.

When we learn of the truth inside us,

we sometimes go astray,

why do we tell ourselves untruths that hide us?

We are perfect as we are today.

We can do so much more than we want to believe,

open up, spread your wings,

smile and be – a You Who Sings!

Know Your Truth…

Being Impeccable (sinless) With Your Word

In Don Miguel Ruiz’s book “The Four Agreements,” a Toltec Wisdom book, he describes us as having agreements with ourselves and others. Anything we accept as true, is an agreement we make with others and/or with ourselves. If we believe someone who speaks bad words against us, we are accepting it as a truth in agreement against ourselves and this is a sin. This sin begins with self-rejection in which is everything you feel, believe or say goes against yourself.

He talked about how animals only pay once for their mistakes, yet humans pay 1000’s of times. Our belief system is responsible for abusing ourselves as the judge and the victim. We ourselves are our worst judge and critic. Ruiz said: “The Word is a force you cannot see, yet you can see the manifestation of the force in your life. You know you’re using the word against yourself if you’re suffering with guilt, sadness or fear and using it impeccably if you’re happy.”

Being impeccable (sinless) with your word is the most difficult yet powerful agreement. Your word is God for “In the beginning was the word,” a gift from God. Through this word, we manifest everything through expressing creative power. All of our knowledge, everything you think, every opinion and every belief is created with the word. By using words, we create belief systems and entire life stories are made of words.

We use words by our thoughts, expressing feelings, opinions, ideas, remembering the past and imagining the future. Our very own personal life story is created by words. Your word is what you tell yourself, agree to accept as the truth, then believe. It a force that you have the power to create. Use your word as a beautiful story instead of misusing it and its force energy will be heavenly sinless.

Words give us the opportunity to create a better story. When you find yourself in thoughts that are troubling think out loud: “Is this true?” 95% of our beliefs are lies we believe and this is how we create drama. Instead of doubting yourself, doubt the lies. After each “untruth” is dispelled, it dispels the negative power and raises faith and good vibes.

Use your word to express truth in every thought, every action and every belief to create your best life story.

Let your story shine!

Blessings,

Evana.

Wherever the Music Is…

Wherever the Music is...

Wherever the music is,

I will go,

the rhythms, the sounds

draw me near,

the ebb and the flow,

the pounding, the beat,

I am right here –

my legs move, my soul,

my feet.

The world can be spinning

out of control,

what, where, when –

no one knows,

one thing never changes –

I can feel it from my head to my toes.

Event Manager on Live Music Industry, Venues’ and Artists’ Community Situation

Jeremy Hurt, Event Manager and WordPress Blogger wrote on May 23rd, 2020: “One thing that I do know for certain, we HAVE to work together to solve this metaphorical Rubik’s Cube that has been placed upon our industry.

We are a community and a family first regardless of how well we may know each other or any past disagreements and we must as one in order to prevail. The future may be completely unknown, but one advantage that gives us is the ability to write it as we seem fit. We can break away from the norms and not be questioned. Anything is and will be possible. So through the tear-blurred vision, I ask of you to join arms with your fellow entertainer, producer, or venue owner and make this future something the world will talk about. I love you all and pray that we overcome this.”

but instead follow the light

towards calm waters.

Lisa’s Wake Up Call –

Raising Awareness of Narcolepsy and Cataplexy, a Rare Neurological Disorder

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is image.png

I first met Lisa at a local grocery store. I noticed her friendly demeaner right away as I commented about how discovering Teddy Grahams excited me and brought me back to when my kids were younger. It was easy to quickly become friends with our instant rapport.

A week later, Lisa and I met up at Starbucks and before we met, she explained to me that she had Narcolepsy and Cataplexy. I had no idea what it was and had never heard of it before. She went on to break down what exactly she was dealing with on a daily basis.

She told me that Narcolepsy is a condition in which she suffers a lack of hours of sleep and deep sleep at night, then falls asleep for short periods of time during the day at random and unpredictable/inconvenient times. Her condition includes “cataplexy”, which results in sudden loss of muscle control when experiencing everyday emotions like laughter or surprise.

The consequence of this condition is decreased concentration and focus, memory and chronic fatigue. People with Narcolepsy and Cataplexy have to navigate today’s life through these very serious and difficult challenges.

To raise awareness, help with resources, educate people and help connect those who are affected, “Lisa’s Wake-Up Call” fb page was launched.

Image may contain: flower, sky, plant, outdoor, nature and water

I experienced her condition first hand on that day at Starbucks. She had been dropped off by a friend so she wouldn’t have to drive. I didn’t know what to expect and we just started talking like friends usually would, we got quite excited about possibly writing about her disorder and all of a sudden, her eyes shut and she seemed unconscious. “Help,” was my first reaction, what is happening?, How long will she sleep? Is she okay? How often does this happen and various other questions raced through my mind.

Several minutes passed by as she came back. This happens several times a day and was not a full description of Narcolepsi and Cataplexy. It’s basically a neurological disorder that disrupts ones natural cycles of sleeping and waking and is characterized by excessive sleepiness during the day and cataplexy interfers with muscle control and causes partial paralysis when feeling certain strong emotions. Considered a rare disease, Narcolepsy with or without cataplexy affects 2-5 out of 10,000 people.

Lisa is an exceptionally strong woman. When faced with obstacles, she does not falter, instead, she finds new ways to overcome personal hardships. Lisa is very creative by nature and she is the queen of making gorgeous flower arrangements and is a very talented photographer as well.

It's not your fault you are doing the best you can. @meme_the_sick_away'

From Lisa’s post: LISAS WAKE UP CALL- Narcolepsy and Cataplexy · August 21, 2019 · This stands for me very strongly… I struggle with this just even simple things that have to get done because I can’t stop sleeping all day. But when I do have good days and I get out and get things done ✅ boy I sure do pay later that day and the next day. Everyday I try my Best! ~ Lisa

Right/Left Brain

So, a lot of times I hear people talking  about right brain/left brain topics, but what I don’t understand is how ones right brain is always right, how do you know when it’s wrong, and why is the left brain left? Where was it left?! I don’t think I left it anywhere, as far as I know, it’s still there – I think🤔anyway! And also, which left is the left brain, from my right side, or my left?!

Well, I think I can conclude that I might have left the left, but my right brain is right where I left it!!!

Evanalife on the Origin of Writing and “Write On!”

No photo description available.

Generally, it is considered that writing has emerged independently in three different locations: Egypt, Mesopotania and Harappa between 3,500 BC and 3,100 BC. Since then however, it has been found that the Vinca script and culture (c. 5,500 -3,500 BC) can be traced back as early as Palaeolithic times. This has been discovered from examining 150 prehistoric caves in France. The Palaeolithic geometric symbols are suspected to represent a proto-script from which all other scripts can trace ancestry.

In essence, the concept of writing is the transference of thought or language into a re-readable form.

Examples of Geometric signs in Palaeolithic art.

“Researchers report from findings of 270 fragments of shell in the Western Cape that the same symbols are used over and over again, and the team say there are signs that the symbols evolved over 5,000 years. This long-term repetition is a hallmark of symbolic communication and a sign of modern human thinking, say the team. [Another researcher is quoted:] ‘Judging from what we know about the evolution of art all over the world, there may have been many [written language] traditions that were born, lasted for some time, and then vanished.”

Write On!

~ E. Lang

It doesn’t matter if you’re a writer or not,

if you write –  it brings out what you keep locked inside,

only you have the key.

Write, write, write, it will change your life

and make you free.

Jot down random ideas,

what comes to your mind,

anything, everything, ALL will shine.

Short words or a sentence, any amount is fine.

Eventually, you will carve out what is in you, divine.

It is gold, it is pure, it is truly yours, not mine.

Get it out, let it out, it’s buried inside.

Lift it free from the wall, take one brick at a time.

In a cave you were living, where we’re not meant to be,

out to nature, into beauty, where we’ll dwell eternally.

Keep shining brightly,

Evana.

15 Amazing Waterfalls in Iceland - The Crazy Tourist

The Power of Nature Calling

~ by E.Lang

A faint, almost fragile whisper of wind

sweeps across my face.

I hear leaves of oak trees whistling in the wind.

In the distance, I imagine a flute playing,

and a mystical sight of Indians dancing by the fire…

Listen to the music of nature,

let it enfold you,

and take you away,

on any day.

Far away from things man-made,

nature’s greatness nourishes the soul,

gives strength to one’s mind,

and gifts us with passion and strength of spirit.

Mother Earth, do you hear the echo sound,

as we call you from the mountain high?

When troubles keep pouring in,

think of these simple sounds –

they’ll keep you calm; this is God’s Earth music,

and it will take you home.

Coastal clouds begin to roll across the evening sky,

turning silver with the reflection of the moon.

Let the sounds and sights bring you back –

to the way man was meant to be.

Sun and storms, snow and rain,

the miracles of nature

enfold to us their beauty endlessly.

The clouds are fading now,

and you can look past them towards the stars.

Crickets are tuning in, lightning bugs all around,

our problems washed away –

in the magical world of nature.

Check out this song, ‘Weightless’, created by Lyz Cooper and Marconi Union. It was officially named the most relaxing song in the world.

healing music

Music

Music has always played an important role in the history of humans as a need and desire in our world. The natural world itself produces a wide array of sounds, tones and rhythms.

Through the development of the first instrument, the flute, which was made from the bones of a giant vulture 35,000 years ago, humans were able to maintain social networks and promote expansion.

Scientists confirmed patterns that emerged such as a universal use of octaves and similarities of various scales between cultures.

Music is a lived experience and an ever-changing expression that mirrors our own social and cultural changes. By learning about ourselves in another perspective, people who participate in the production of music send us messages of social and cultural consciousness.

Music can soften barriers of inequality as it acts as a universal language to connect us all.

Blessings, Evana.

Hanging out Together

Welcome to my Hangout

2839e8a9-f1cc-45da-b260-5efc88546acf

Why do I love words so?
Because they play a melody;
words can be happy,
joyful and magic
when you chose them right,
they can dance like a
mad-in-love couple,
or jump and skip and make it hip.
The sounds, the rhythms,
the awesome vibes,
they help us feel alive.

When I think of the word “line”, I think of ways in which we are all connected. Our bodies are connected by veins that carry blood and oxygen throughout. A phone line, an electrical line, a gas line and of course – the World Wide Web connects people through a web of lines.

Traditionally, people used to hang clothes outside on a clothesline and it was common practice. How many of you have seen your parents or grandparents hanging up clothes on a clothesline? Hanging clothes on the line can be used as a form of reflection of the day, breathing fresh air, getting exercise and saving our resources by not using a clothes dryer. Connecting with nature in any way brings us closer to ourselves and who we are in the inside. This can be a welcome break from our busy lives.

My father enjoyed taking pictures of clotheslines and my mother loved hanging clothes on the line since she was a young girl. In fact, she has such fond memories of this that she remembers singing happily during the chore as the wind was blowing and the birds were chirping. A clothesline can be a very inspirational subject, as it creates interest in form, shape, color, environment and composition. Numerous artists used the clothesline in paintings including Charles Oldenburg, Renoir and Pietro Longhi.

A clothesline offers both intrinsic and extrinsic values for us: we are dependent on wearing clothes and people assess us by the clothes we are wearing. A clothesline can represent daily life as an ongoing process in which we all share responsibility.

Keep shining brightly,

Evana.
