Ignite Your Force

Hello everyone, I’m Evana and I am here to celebrate life’s journey with you. Most people I know say things like “I’ve always wanted to…” and would love to not have any regrets at the end of their lives.

We are here to create experiences and memories while maintaining positive, healthy relationships. Are we igniting our own passion as we were meant to?” Are we using some of our time focusing on those things that make us feel most alive? Are we creating joy for ourselves and those around us?

We all know that answer. You will know by the shape of your lips in the morning.

Everyone has a passion, something that makes them tick, gets them excited. That passion is best shared so that others can be inspired as well. I have found my passion in writing and enjoy lifelong learning, nature, music, the arts and inspiring others.

My first writing was inspired by fairy tales and when I was five or six, my mother told me that she caught me in the closet writing short stories. I am a lover of words, and all art forms of expressions. Here at EvanaLife, I will share my writing, poetry and present some of my favorite quotes from myself and others.

Most importantly, I created this blog site for everyone because I have a deep yearning to help people ignite their own flame that can set the world on fire. Therefore, I welcome all readers to share their stories about what makes them tick. In addition, I plan to talk to already established writers, musicians and artists to find out what stimulated them to do what they do.

To accomplish this, I will discuss various forms of expressions such as music and art starting with writing itself. For some, inspiration comes through a hardship, a change in life, a mentor that changed your life, an illness, moments of awe and wonder, a travel experience or an encounter with art, books or music. For others, memories of childhood and seeing through your younger self’s eyes again is of great help.

Set The World On Fire

~by Evana

Go, do, pursue,

find what’s inside –

can’t keep it locked up,

needs out of the cup,

don’t wait ’till times’ up.

Find that what you feel,

believe that it’s real,

it’s you that needs out,

without any doubt.

Never stop pursuing growth,

Never take anyone for granted,

Always do what you love,

No regrets.

Yours truly,

 Evana

Up your Good Vibes – How do you resonate with others?

img_2677 (1)

Our bodies are an intricately complex system built for the essential task of generating and dispersing energy.

~ Tru Niagen, a health and bioscience brand specializing in cellular health and NAD+ research.

…When you think of life as a life form, living beings are merely bundles of energies both positive and negative. A considerably peaceful and positive person has an aura of good vibes in their presence. They know themselves well. They are at peace with who they are, strong in their faith in something bigger than themselves and want to be of service and joy to others. Do you remember the JC Penney commercial “don’t just get there, arrive”? One can truly learn from this. I have learned that it is of utmost importance to live intentionally and to be aware of one’s thoughts, words and actions. How we resonate with others affects absolutely everyone.

Here are some helpful tips to “up your good vibes“:

  • Clear your mind of all distractions by finding a quiet, peaceful and uncluttered space (a room, a greenhouse, a cabin, a treehouse, etc)
  • Open your heart and think what it might be like to “live in anothers’ shoes”
  • Evaluate your thoughts, beliefs and actions in all of your current relationships
  • Always, always try to see the good in every situation
  • Learn from mistakes: these are great ways to learn, after all, after the first “miss-take,” there’s always room for a “second-take,” by getting up, picking up the pieces and trying again in a different way with an enlightened and adjusted perspective
  • Develop good habits (actively listening, taking the others opinion in consideration, valuing each others time, ideas and suggestions, etc.)
  • Give up and eliminate bad habits
  • Never forget to be grateful for all people and blessings in your life, don’t take anything for granted, instead practice gratefulness and appreciation regularly

What Resonates through Us?

What’s within us, is projected out

All people carry thoughts and beliefs in us. Do we evaluate these thoughts before we let them take over and just let it be? We all have a choice to hold up those ships that carry “access baggage,” in other words, we can stop negativity before it takes root. Once we become more aware of our thoughts (it becomes easier when practiced regularly), we are then able to evaluate and re-evaluate them, analyze which of them are “bad,” and let them just “sail by” on a stream away from us.

In our Western world, society has become more and more a culture of sameness, who is even still paying attention to all the “likes?,” or wait – it’s whoever is famous that “liked” something gets many more likes until someone realizes that – hold on, they did something wrong now, so what now?

Be aware of your thoughts, let them be your own thoughts because these are the same thoughts that turn into beliefs and develop into actions. We all know what’s right and wrong because it’s engrained into our very being.

How do you resonate with others?

Resonance begins with tone, your clear and positive tone of voice is an important factor in successful communication. If you slur or speak very low, your voice could be drowned out by all the other white noise. Part of our communication is compiled of speaking and listening and the listening becomes more and more difficult when there are so many distractions around us. However, when active listening is practiced, a harmonious relationship can grow.

Researchers have discovered that to have a genuine connection, active listening is one of the most crucial- and transformative skills in building deep and lasting relationships. In a world where speaking has dominated our daily attention through videos and media, active listening has become more challenging.

Our words are much more important than we think. Negative and positive words are truly felt by those that receive them as they usually produce a corresponding reaction and reply from the other person. Once someone explained bad and good words through the metaphor of an apple and a diaper. So, why wouldn’t we all want to “talk apple?”

Some words carry meaning from a persons childhood or an experience they had in their life. The other person you’re talking to could have positive or negative experiences associated with certain words that you choose to speak.

As we all associate positive and negative to our words, all words can be seen as both as well. For example, a diaper is actually also a good thing because the invention of a diaper itself sure helped many Moms in the world!

Last on the list, are our non-verbal ques that resonate. People associate some non-verbal language as ques or signs. One could feel happy and accepted, or threatened and rejected and some show this without words. In communication, we often show how we feel by our expressions of joy or despair, sadness or gladness. “Peace is in a smile.”

Some people can just “capture the room,” and these are the kind of people that resonate well with others. You can spot them from a crowd, notice them across the room and one can almost sense their being in the room. They carry a strong presence.

…Back to the bundles of energy…

 Here’s insight from Oprah:

“Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space.
I realized that for every relationship, not only do I have to be accountable for the energy I bring, but I also have to take responsibility for the energy that I allow from others. I understand that strengthening the bond in any situation is impossible if you’re not surrounded by energy that lifts you up.

Be intentional with the energy that you create for yourself and others, have patience and compassion with others and keep your space free of negative energy.

Blessings,

Evana.

Find Beauty in Stillness

Been a foreigner, been a friend,

walked far, lived in a car – been transient.

I was young, fearless and kind,

thankfully not blind

to be open to the world’s love and crime –

the dangers, the lies,

the Beauty and the Devine.

By foot or by wheels, to each their own,

whichever way appealed to me at the time.

Be careful who you show a smile –

disguised under a façade you may find

not a go(o)d kind.

Wonderful, magical times

are found in those who shine,

once you learn to tell them apart,

eventually you get smart

and if you continue to let life’s trials all be lessons,

you too will rise to become wise –

“be still and listen, be slow to answer,

slow to anger and quick to forgive.”

~ E. Lang

Keep on a disguise

so you can be shielded

from the hidden trickeries

that become ties –

ties that bind and ties that keep –

precious secrets and

forgotten lies.

Don’t believe anything

but the truth that’s inside,

not my story, not yours –

the only one needs not defending nor defining

and takes no sides.

Beautiful and still is the language of God,

for only in silence can you hear your hearts’ beat.

Cherish your blessings, love with all your heart

and know that true strength lays in gentleness,

not deceit.

Breathe Love, live Love,

and practice Love –

every day!

🙌 Blessings and keep shining brightly,

🌺Evana.

Mother Earth Day Cry

WE ARE ONE

~ by E. Lang

————————————————————————

Mother Earth needs us:

connect the dots

and get up and trust!

————————————————————————

Our Mother Earth needs us,

why don’t you think that’s just –

we’re all here together

in each and every weather.

We’re not made to rust

nor turn to leather –

Our Earth needs us,

in God we Trust.

Photo by T Leish on Pexels.com

————————————————————————

Don’t care about black or white,

blue or red –

rather think about life

than death.

Let’s put our differences to rest –

that’s our Earth at its best!

Get Up! Stand Up! Speak Up!

for You, for Me, for ALL.

————————————————————————

We don’t have to listen to the chatter

as the world continues to fabricate the matter –

it’s your choice to either listen

or follow in the wallow

of yet another swallowed.

What truly makes change

are the people

who help rearrange

the furniture in the house.

————————————————————————

Stir it Up, Shake it Up,

gently Disrupt.

Fight for our Change –

Fill Your Cup

and Buckle Up!

The Angels agree,

the planets align,

what is new? what is new?

Something quite divine!

This Earth is All Yours And All Mine,

Let’s treat it like our Mother

and shine!

If we, we, the people

could change, change the world.

————————————————————————

We’re just some humans passing through –

we all make mistakes like all of you.

Life is brief and time’s a thief,

as dots we come,

as dust we leave,

together –

We Are One.

In everything you do

think of God and your Mother Earth too!

Tiptoeing through the tulips…

As I tiptoe gently through the tulips,

I make sure I don’t disrupt their beauty.

As I walk softly through a crowd of people,

I quietly listen without judging and talk –

very little.

Sometimes it takes more space for us

to separate ourselves from each other

and ourselves to see what’s apparent

to others looking in.

————————————————————————

Take time to reflect…

Are you operating within your own authenticity?

Is anything you’re doing upsetting you?

Are you happy with your current choices and most recent decisions?

Do you feel at all that anything seems “off”?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are not alone, you are never alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Trust your Faith

but not your feelings –

think less about self

and more about serving.

Practice Gratefulness,

Joy and Love

and you will rise above!

————————————————————————

Peace is ours – for the taking,

our heaven awaits us here and now –

it’s much nicer why wait?

It’s never too late.

————————————————————————

Thoughts of a conflicting couple…

I like to move mountains,

but you complain that they even exist

and don’t even see the same mountains as I.

————————————————————————

You like to point fingers,

I look for common ground.

You find fault in others,

I see only beauty.

————————————————————————

If you want to see a change,

do not look into trying to make someone

view the world as you –

it is not your job, nor your duty.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The time for truth is now and always.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It is not easy to understand those hurting,

those hungry and those in pain –

but take a trip away and

listen to their stories, you might be amazed –

at how similar they are to you and I.

Losing Inches, Gaining Pounds…

Losing Inches, gaining pounds –

how are you feeling this time around?

how does your life song sound?

————————————————————————

Is it peppy, choppy, but yet smooth?

Are you finding your own groove?

There’s no one in this world

you need to prove:

as long as you’re alive,

as long as you can move.

————————————————————————

Love God, others and yourself,

don’t put “You” on a shelf –

Find the fun 🤩 in everything,

life is at most a blessing.

————————————————————————

Getting older, growing bolder –

carrying the world upon your shoulders

life is such a beautiful song.

————————————————————————

We weather the storms,

no matter your norms –

with faith it can be overcome.

Sea Stars Washing Ashore…

Stars above and stars below

watch in wonder all aglow,

Naked eyes can see those high,

goggles view the ones below.

Sea Stars washing ashore –

seeing some, then many more,

What a wonder, what a sight –

such a beautiful delight.

Photo by Daniel Torobekov on Pexels.com

Sea Stars like us –

get a little lost in life.

We are still beautiful as we are vulnerable,

there are times we trust too soon –

are in more danger,

other times we are too cautious .

Once we learn to trust our God to take over,

we lose the need to worry.

One by one they’re back together –

and free.

Ready To Rise and Release

Feeling fine,

like the river divine,

a bit sad of eye,

a little shy,

but full of hope,

and wanting to thrive,

I am alive.

Want no disguise and

nothing to hide,

out of the shadows

into the crowd,

what a ride.

—————————————————

Singing loudly

and oh so proud,

I am alive.

The waves are in a storm right now,

it’s not my favorite norm at all,

when it’s over I will rise,

I am alive.

Work With Your Emotions

To Release Them

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

According to Matt James, PhD in his “Ready to Release” article in Psychology Today, our emotions carry purpose and wisdom. As we all experience positive and negative emotions he suggests us to begin “working with” our emotions instead of hiding them in order to release them. He feels that using the well known expression of “controlling” them could actually be misinterpreted as beating them into submission.

Many of us hide our emotions especially the negative ones and even if we might think “out of sight, out of mind,” these emotions are still there and working on causing all types of problems as they manifest mentally and physically. Many of these can be held in resentment, anger, hostility, fear, guilt and regrets. Some people hold onto things so long, they might not even know what they’re holding onto anymore.

💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

In his research, James found a great example of the 19th century Hawaiians and their vastly different approach to releasing emotions. As the Westerners were arriving, the ancient Hawaiians were in fact almost devoid of mental and physiological disease. How is this possible? This is because the Hawaiians work with their “unihipili,” (trans. “little creature/a little self inside you = our unconscious mind).

In a nutshell, our emotions that are stored within us collect, and once they surface, they will be expressed and worked through so that they can be released. This relieves stress, repressed emotions and memories.

Reign On…

Rain does not always come down the same –

it can be a steady drizzle

across the window pane,

sometimes just spitting and blowing

not even certain where it’s going.

————————————————————————

Rain can come as a light shower

then it also can go full power

at any and all hours.

————————————————————————

Whether a gentle mist,

or a heavy downpour-

watch as the air currents

go through the weather vane.

Rain does not always come down the same.

————————————————————————

As you watch the raindrops merge and fall

it continues to change and does not remain –

the same.

————————————————————————

Can you remember on certain days of rain,

when it helped you understand your pain –

it’s like balm for your soul

that helps retain strength for our goals.

————————————————————————

I crave the rain.

Not each rain brings on a change,

sometimes it’s just to maintain.

When warm and cold collide however,

then cold brings cooler and warm warmer weather.

————————————————————————

When temps shift between seasons

it marks yet another reason

for falling rain.

Rain does not always come down the same.

Enjoy the rain falling and remember it’s You leading the rein that’s calling.

A Sky Full Of Stars

In a rowboat alone on a deep, dark night

with a sky full of stars

magically aligned,

I let myself go in a dreams lullaby,

taken by such vast beauty through these eyes,

dreaming about all earths miracles,

waking up with a cry –

all of nature moves me!,

without nature,

we die.

When we learn of the truth inside us,

we sometimes go astray,

why do we tell ourselves untruths that hide us?

We are perfect as we are today.

We can do so much more than we want to believe,

open up, spread your wings,

smile and be – a You Who Sings!

Know Your Truth…

Being Impeccable (sinless) With Your Word

In Don Miguel Ruiz’s book “The Four Agreements,” a Toltec Wisdom book, he describes us as having agreements with ourselves and others. Anything we accept as true, is an agreement we make with others and/or with ourselves. If we believe someone who speaks bad words against us, we are accepting it as a truth in agreement against ourselves and this is a sin. This sin begins with self-rejection in which is everything you feel, believe or say goes against yourself.

He talked about how animals only pay once for their mistakes, yet humans pay 1000’s of times. Our belief system is responsible for abusing ourselves as the judge and the victim. We ourselves are our worst judge and critic. Ruiz said: “The Word is a force you cannot see, yet you can see the manifestation of the force in your life. You know you’re using the word against yourself if you’re suffering with guilt, sadness or fear and using it impeccably if you’re happy.”

Being impeccable (sinless) with your word is the most difficult yet powerful agreement. Your word is God for “In the beginning was the word,” a gift from God. Through this word, we manifest everything through expressing creative power. All of our knowledge, everything you think, every opinion and every belief is created with the word. By using words, we create belief systems and entire life stories are made of words.

We use words with our thoughts; expressing feelings, opinions, ideas, remembering the past and imagining the future. Our very own personal life story is created by words. Your word is what you tell yourself, agree to accept as the truth, then believe. It’s a force that you have the power to create. Use your word as a beautiful story instead of misusing it and its force energy will be heavenly sinless.

Words give us the opportunity to create a better story. When you find yourself in thoughts that are troubling think out loud: “Is this true?” 95% of our beliefs are lies we believe and this is how we create drama. Instead of doubting yourself, doubt the lies. After each “untruth” is dispelled, it dispels the negative power and raises faith and good vibes.

Use your word to express truth in every thought, every action and every belief to create your best life story.

Let your story shine!

Blessings,

Evana.

Hanging out Together – Welcome to my Hangout

A Reflection on Connection

—————————————————————————-

Playing with words connecting on lines,

thinking deeply and finding rhymes –

pondering traditions of hanging clothes.

Sometimes we underestimate the pros

of spending time outdoors

as our spirit is lifted and grows,

it’s always a good time to be exposed.

2839e8a9-f1cc-45da-b260-5efc88546acf

Why do I love words so?
Because they play a melody;
words can be happy,
joyful and magic
when you chose them right,
they can dance like a
mad-in-love couple,
or jump and skip and make it hip.
The sounds, the rhythms,
the awesome vibes,
they help us feel alive.

When I think of the word “line”, I think of ways in which we are all connected. Our bodies are connected by veins that carry blood and oxygen throughout. A phone line, an electrical line, a gas line and of course – the World Wide Web connects people through a web of lines.

Traditionally, people used to hang clothes outside on a clothesline and it was common practice. How many of you have seen your parents or grandparents hanging up clothes on a clothesline? Hanging clothes on the line can be used as a form of reflection of the day, breathing fresh air, getting exercise and saving our resources by not using a clothes dryer. Connecting with nature in any way brings us closer to ourselves and who we are in the inside. This can be a welcome break from our busy lives.

My father enjoyed taking pictures of clotheslines and my mother loved hanging clothes on the line since she was a young girl. In fact, she has such fond memories of this that she remembers singing happily during the chore as the wind was blowing and the birds were chirping. A clothesline can be a very inspirational subject, as it creates interest in form, shape, color, environment and composition. Numerous artists used the clothesline in paintings including Charles Oldenburg, Renoir and Pietro Longhi.

A clothesline offers both intrinsic and extrinsic values for us: we are dependent on wearing clothes and people assess us by the clothes we are wearing. A clothesline can represent daily life as an ongoing process in which we all share responsibility.

Keep shining brightly,

Evana.
