Life is…, New Perspective, Steps to Awaken Your Inner Force

Bubbles and Waves, Clouds and Rain –

 Bubbles, Clouds and Rain

~ by E.Lang

I lived in a bubble,

far from the rubble

of a country going so wrong,

easy to tell stories

of a new countries’ glories,

but not so much the sad song.

I remember when little,

in the closet with riddles,

read stories and fairy tale books –

as I sat there I lived in a magical place,

with daydreams and fantasies hooked.

My memory is fading,

as new thoughts invading,

my drive to push fiercely ahead:

my life is a story, a poem in its glory,

and thoughts so very unsaid.

I finally figured it out –

though so many years it seems,

now there’s no room for doubt,

my path that has been laid out,

it all feels like a dream.

Graced with priceless experiences throughout my life:

joys, happiness and gains –

struggles, set-backs and pains,

and through it all –

I love the rain.

I read a quote about rain –

how it starts from a cloud and gathers together

until it returns back dispersed in many tiny pieces.

“Rain makes me feel less alone. All rain is, is a cloud falling apart, and pouring its shattered pieces down on top of you. It makes me feel good to know I’m not the only thing that falls apart. It makes me feel better to know other things in nature can shatter.”

It’s such a shame,

how there are so many people,

that aren’t seeing it so plain,

that you only have to go inside

to see a reflection of what’s outside.

We might get stressed and depressed

and need to expel our hell,

let it out and vent –

once it rains, it’s heaven sent.

Rainbows come from tears,

the soul cries out for years

but when the timing’s right,

it’s the most beautiful sight.

Talk Waves

As I sit here at a local restaurant in the village I live in, I notice again as I have so many times before how I truly love to hear people’s chatter. Being a water lover, I like to relate to just about everything to water. It’s very relaxing. I hear a chatter, a murmur and all the sounds coming together as one. To me it resembles the mesmerizing ocean waves that keep rolling up gently to the shore.

Listening to the chatter of people takes me back to the time when I was just a little girl in Germany sitting on a chair or bench with my late Father and his friends at a local cafe. The table they sat at was called a “Stammtisch” which means “rooted table.” I remember sitting there and listening to people just as I am doing now, except I’m not in Germany, my Dad has passed on and it’s 35 years later.

As an artist, I have many creative interests. Helping people learn about themselves and what possible creativity they can dig out and unleash in themselves is important to me. Of course it makes sense that I have a deep yearning to grow, to progress and to live up to my potential, but what does that really actually mean? Potential to me means when someone not only finds what they love doing, but is also actively creating the time needed and using it! The more we work on what’s in us, the closer we get to who we are.

Waves…

When I hear a crowd of people,

I hear the ocean waves,

I hear their voices high and low

like tides throughout the bay.

I feel at home in the waves,

they keep me safe and soothe my soul,

I find comfort here with people

I do not even know –

but I am here with all of them,

as a part of a whole.

I believe that all of us can do so much more, and as the saying goes: “If you do what you’re meant to do, you will set the world on fire.”

“Alone, but yet together, we all depend on each other.” ~ E. Lang

Live Victoriously

~ By Eva A, Lang

Every day,

be the best person you can be –

to yourself and to others.

Ask yourself: “Am I creating joy?”

Find ways to put others first,

make their day brighter

and treat them as if it was the last day

you see them.

Every difficult situation in life

carries potential value –

believe this,

then begin looking for it.

The more you get lost

in something bigger than yourself,

the more energy you will create,

feel and share.

Keep shining brightly,

Evana.

…Relationships

All relationships carry influence on our relationships with those closest to us.

Whoa…did I just use the “R” word?

This time, peeps, it’s about other types of relationships as you might expect. In this post, I will touch on many of our “other” relationships that have a connection with our more/most intimate relationships such as our significant other, family and friends.

Heather Moody, our Environmental Science teacher at Siena Heights University told us once that with every choice we make in life, we experience unexpected connections and sometimes even unintended consequences. Even though she was referring to the environment and our practices, this can easily translate to our lives.

In this post, I will touch on our relationships to things, our bodies, change and our minds.

…Relationships to things

Every morning upon waking, we share a relationship with our alarm clocks. We set them, depend on them, maintain them and sometimes threaten them. Some of us even blame and abuse them. Our relationship with time management can be quite challenging, especially for those that are extremely creative. Distraction is wonderfully welcome to our souls yet disrupting to our schedules.

Of course there are different types of distractions, those in which family or friends ask for help and those in which our soul is screaming for attention. Other things in our lives are our computers, pens, plates, food, our clothes and our cars to name a few. Think about how you relate to all of these things throughout your every day and practice awareness on your thoughts. Weed out the negativity, frustration and disappointment and seek instead thankfulness and gratitude.

…Relationships to our bodies

After several decades of carrying our bodies around, eventually our bodies respond to how we relate to it and with A.G.E. aka age, our bodies change as they begin to have different needs.

What? Wait – all the while we’re taking care of our kids, our bills, our appointments, etc. now, our bodies are beginning to communicate more to us, so does that mean that we’ve been denying that it’s talking to us all along? Yes. We’ve been ignoring, dealing with and pushing our body cries under a rug (at least some of us), so don’t ignore what your body is telling you, because believe me, it’s not recommended to wait for it to SCREAM.

Relationships to Change and practicing Mindfulness

Changes are always certain as long as life exists

” All things take place by change from how they are to make new and everything that exists is in a manner the seed of which will be. Pain is not evil, it is human and necessary. Enjoy life by joining one good thing to another and try not to leave even the smallest intervals between.”

Change is clearly one of the most challenging obstructions in our  lives. Each and every time a change happens, all things move. With changes in life we are thrown off our tracks and must relearn, regroup, reflect and regather ourselves. As long as ones perspective stays positive and faithful that there will indeed be value in terms of learning and progress, lessons will be learned and wisdom will be gained. During the process, we try to fight without reason, until we learn. When we learn a new life lesson, it can be quite amazing, almost magical because then we grow stronger, start fresh and try harder to be a better version of ourselves.

Healing from Change

As I find, the most important things in life are the simplest: Faith in God, spending quality time with family and friends, self-care, healthy rituals and regular routines that encourage our best self to thrive. When we finish a chapter, we must begin again. In order to begin again, we need to evaluate our current situation, adjust and get back to the basics: when you are stressed: Be grateful for God, family and healthy habits!

Breathe: be aware of your breaths as your chest rises and falls. Take deep breaths and hold it for a count of ten, then slowly and controlled, let it go out again. Be grateful for the air we breathe!

Eat: be aware of what you eat, our modern diet has changed drastically and more and  more people suffer from celiac disease, allergies and food sensitivities. As you are putting foods in your mouth notice the textures and tastes of these foods, eat slowly and controlled. Allow yourself ample time to eat. Be grateful for food!

“Our body is like a garden, only put good foods in it to nourish and cultivate good bacteria, practice to be mindful of what you think, eat and do, and do it all with love and gratefulness.” ~ E. Lang

Mindfulness

The age of Mindfulness didn’t just get here by surprise, nor did it pop out of a cracker jack box, we’ve been going against nature in our way of life in a gradual but steady and exponential way in the culture we live in. Other cultures have been practicing mindfulness for centuries. The closer we are to nature, the closer we are to our true selves. All the while we are trying to keep up, keep going and improve our lives, the improvement starts with us and us alone and always needs to come from within our core. Faith, hope and love carry a deep connection for this to happen and are necessary. Peace happens when we are one.

“A separation from nature is a separation from ourselves.” ~ E. Lang

The Art of Patience

It is so easy to get distracted in todays world, so often we can get caught up in doing extra things that weren’t on our agenda for the day. Although these are also things that need to get done and the world around us wouldn’t be as organized, however, sometimes we need to let those things go to someone else and learn to perfect the Art of Delegation! This is just as important for a manager and/or leader of a company as it is for a mother or group leader. Since I have so many plans for this blogsite, perhaps I can find someone that could work with me on it.

Creativity grants us the first verb of the bible: “In the beginning, God created…” It’s time to Begin to Create

Are you creative? Well, it turns out that all of us have the potential to a great imagination. Take it from the anthropologist Agustin Fuentes who said: ” People pigeonhole creativity as belonging to a single individual or a group of geniuses. They don’t realize that each and every human has this incredible capacity to imagine and to change things. Auto mechanics can be amazingly creative – so can people trying to stretch a paycheck to the end of a month.”

IMG_2587

In addition to helping people learn about what they might enjoy creating with art, my next step with Evanalife is to begin interviewing artists, musicians and writers to learn more about how they got into doing what they love doing. What happened to spark their interest? How old were they when they first discovered their passion for the art and how do they market their masterpieces so that they can continue to practice what they love? These are just some of the questions I will be asking.

Would you like to learn from other artists? Most creative people are even more inspired when working alongside another artist and Evanalife is here to make sure that creatives can learn and hear from each other. If you or someone you know would like to be featured in my new Evanalife Artists/Authors and Musicians Spotlight, feel free to e-mail me at evanalife@gmail.com.

What’s Your Art?

img_2666 (1)

Life, Art & Wellness

Art is the expression of human creative imagination and is typically produced in visual form such as painting and sculpting, however, others such as music, literature and dance also serve as art forms. Furthermore, one could say that life itself is an art. Just as a trapeze artist, one must maintain perfect balance in order to get through tough situations and these situations are impossible without faith & family.

People need to constantly work on maintaining their own balance by making adjustments in response to changes in their lives such as relationships, work, kids, education, health and wellness. When faced with a difficult situation, one must ask oneself: “How does my response to a change effect my life and those around me?”

“Whenever someone creates a work of art, they are changing the world inside them and the world around them by serving as a messenger of  expressive, inspirational and influential art.” ~ E. Lang

As we live in a world in which wellness is becoming a vitally important and growing field, experts agree that mindfulness is necessary for humans to thrive in our increasingly media saturated, busy and loud time. It used to be that people would escape to the country to leave all the noise and settle into a more relaxing, revitalizing and regenerating place and state of mind.

Quiet Zone ahead

Today’s world is packed with expectations, demands and responsibilities and a person may find it difficult to see a clear path. One can detect anger, pride, vengeance, hate, despise and frustration reflect in many of the voices and opinions we hear on a daily basis and these opinions are put on a pedestal instead of on a privately kept paper or discussed in a confidential area with another person.

IMG_2679 (1)

Art, Nature & Creation

Nature is the first thing that inspired me to write. It was out of my own nature to write as a young child and I’m tapping into that same nature to continue my path in writing. When we take a walk in nature, all of our worldly life takes the back burner position and troubles are left far away. It is a time when we shut everything else in our heads off and let it all go and be as it is.

Jen Sincero from the “Badass” Series of books said :”You must find a way to stop the dancing squirrels in your head.” There is always more to nature than we can completely understand and numerous scientific studies have proven how vitally necessary it is for us. Nature is peace and there is peace in nature, naturally.

Since most people nowadays are being consumed by activities on screens, experts have found that it takes two weeks in nature to get all of our screen time out of our system. When we are lounging more than moving, sitting more than standing, bending down to see screens instead of face-to face communications, our human trait of communication is put down in value and if real communication is being undervalued and those that do are more frequently distracted because of being taken away from these devices, who is going to make decisions, manage a team or lead people?

Check In: It is always good to have a daily “check-in” with yourself. Ask yourself :”How am I doing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually?” What percentage from 1 to 100 can you rate yourself? Keep a journal, maintain your balance. It is good to think about how you are doing outside and inside and think of yourself outside of yourself to do this.

Art appreciation and creating art inspires change in ourselves and those around us. It radiates “newness,” change and motivates us to do more art. It helps us feel less restricted in what we can do, encourages us to have passion, excitement and drive to do those things that we need to do to feel alive. All brilliant ideas come from the creative ability to have an open mind and “create limitless” ideas to solve pressing worldly problems. When we let our creative side out, we are taken back to a child-like state that sees the world in awe with endless possibilities and infinite hope for a brighter future.

No matter what kind of art you choose, take a walk in nature, close your eyes, breath in and be glad in your life, the best is yet to come!

Do something amazing today,

Evana.

Up your Good Vibes – How do you resonate with others?

img_2677 (1)

…When you think of life as a life form, living beings are merely bundles of energies both positive and negative. A considerably peaceful and positive person has an aura of good vibes in their presence. They know themselves well and are at peace with who they are, are strong in their faith in something bigger than themselves and want to be of service and joy to to others.  If anyone remembers the JC Penney commercial :“Don’t just get there, arrive,” one can truly learn from this. I have learned, that it is of utmost importance to live intentionally and to be aware of ones thoughts, words and actions. How we resonate with others affects everyone.

Here are some helpful tips to “up your good vibes“: Continue reading

EVANA is back!

Hello, all and thank you for hanging in there!

Life Is A Miracle

Last year, I have been away for a long time it seems. I went ill before and after our family vaca, then got sick once again after that! In the end, I was told that I had tested positive for the e-coli bacteria. After three antibiotics, some great sons, friends and furry things, I am finally, finally on the mend.

I have since published two articles. The first one, “Hardships are Necessary for Better Ships to Sail”: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/hardships-necessary-better-ships-sail-eva-lang/ was published in my LinkedIn site. The one after that was titled “Begin Again.” Feel free to share your thoughts on those.

We live in a miracle.

Steps to Awaken Your Inner Force

cropped-our-muskegan-trip-013.jpg

What excites you?

Have you ever felt like you’d like to do something awesome and sometimes hear others creating their own fabulous futures by taking time with things they love? We all have something(s) that excite us. These are those things that we feel strongly about and the most connected. Write about it!

Step (1) Do you or have you ever had a hero in your life that you looked up to?

This can be a parent, a relative, a friend, a celebrity, e.t.c. Who was it and what about this person made you feel so elated? Some of his or her dreams may be very similar to your own. Now, we don’t have to go out and quit our jobs after we gained clarity about what specifically it is that our very soul is screaming out for us to do.

(2) Think about when you were still in school. What were your favorite subjects and why?

(3) Outside of school, what types of things did you enjoy doing for fun?

What kinds of hobbies did you have, which TV shows and movies did you find most interesting and memorable?

(4) Do you remember any significant dreams or day dreams? What were they and what did you conclude about them?

(5) Take out some old photo albums and think back during those times as a child, teenager or young adult. What was it like at those times? What were some of your favorite times and things during these periods?

(6) Complete a dating profile. In my former profile I exemplified my love of words, creative activities, poetry, music, art, nature and comedy. Some things I enjoy doing is amusing people, helping people, writing and going on adventures outside of the house.

By now, you’ve probably learned a lot of things about yourself. If you’ve completed these steps, you should now be able to see a much clearer picture about what makes you tick. Ask yourself: “Is this something I feel most strongly about being, doing or having?” Do you feel a yearning towards paths not taken? What do you regret not doing?

Writing, music and the arts are categories of potential inspirational interest. In addition, hobbies are also a great way to tap into your creative side. Have you ever thought about learning how to sculpt a wooden-or ice sculpture, been amazed from items sold at art fairs and flee markets, or felt like inventing something that the world needs?

As we all live our lives in our own types of rhythms, may you feel inspired by all the art around you. Visit a museum, attend an art or craft event, sign up for a workshop that you’ve been curious about and spend some time in nature. Above all, let your own light shine, find your authentic you and rock on.

Keep shining brightly,

Evana.

Steps to Awaken Your Inner Force

Welcome to EvanaLife, meet Evana.

Focus! Business Card Pic!

Ignite Your Force

Hello everyone, I’m Evana and I am here to celebrate life’s journey with you. Most people I know say things like “I’ve always wanted to…” and would love to not have any regrets at the end of their lives.

We are here to create experiences and memories while maintaining positive, healthy relationships. Are we igniting our own passion as we were meant to?” Are we using some of our time focusing on those things that make us feel most alive? Are we creating joy for ourselves and those around us?

We all know that answer. You will know by the shape of your lips in the morning.

Everyone has a passion, something that makes them tick, gets them excited. That passion is best shared so that others can be inspired as well. I have found my passion in writing and enjoy lifelong learning, nature, music, the arts and inspiring others.

My first writing was inspired by fairy tales and when I was five or six, my mother told me that she caught me in the closet writing short stories. I am a lover of words, and all art forms of expressions. Here at EvanaLife, I will share my writing, poetry and present some of my favorite quotes from myself and others.

Most importantly, I created this blog site for everyone because I have a deep yearning to help people ignite their own flame that can set the world on fire. Therefore, I welcome all readers to share their stories about what makes them tick. In addition, I plan to talk to already established writers, musicians and artists to find out what stimulated them to do what they do.

To accomplish this, I will discuss various forms of expressions such as music and art starting with writing itself. For some, inspiration comes through a hardship, a change in life, a mentor that changed your life, an illness, moments of awe and wonder, a travel experience or an encounter with art, books or music. For others, memories of childhood and seeing through your younger self’s eyes again is of great help.

Set The World On Fire

~by Evana

Go, do, pursue,

find what’s inside –

can’t keep it locked up,

needs out of the cup,

don’t wait ’till times’ up.

Find that what you feel,

believe that it’s real,

it’s you that needs out,

without any doubt.

Never stop pursuing growth,

Never take anyone for granted,

Always do what you love,

No regrets.

Yours truly,
