Distance Happens ~ Blest be the ties that binds

Distance…

When people move away-

they just might tear apart

the fabric of their ties

and anew they’ll have to start.

Far away

Far away they say

Far away I go

every day.

In my mind

I love the places

where there are no races.

Far away

Far away they say

Far away I go

every day.

It’s okay to be far away

recreate the severed ties

It’s okay to be far away

letting go of foolish pride

a choice to start fresh

and live a life as blessed.

Far away

Far away they say

Far away I go

every day.

Some do yoga, meditation,

some need a vacation –

let’s change the station

of the entire nation.

Far away

Far away they say

Far away I go

every day.

It’s time,

time for a change

to rearrange

no need explain’n

what needs done,

to see it’s plain.

Far away

Far away they say

Far away I go

every day.

It’s okay to be far away,

it gives us a test –

whether close or far –

just maintain your connect.

Far away

Far away they say

Far away I go

every day.

You can be living right next to your kin,

yet not visit or even call on a whim,

it’s important to keep in touch,

even though we’re all in a rush.

Far away

Far away they say

Far away I go

every day.

Rushing in, rushing out,

rushing here, rushing there,

doing this, doing that

pause to breathe

focus and take care,

don’t let your life line go flat.

Care of yourself and care of others

like a small child gets from their mother.

Mothers nurture kids to grow,

we all have needs for support we know

as adults we sometimes fall short it shows,

and our connections – they fall low.

Keep your love bucket full of sunshine

as you play with words of rhyme!

…Connect

You’re gone when you’re here,

you’re here – but you’re gone.

Connect with me please.

Never dread to talk –

a relationship’s the work of a clock.

Communication needs to flow freely,

it cannot endure a block.

You’re gone when you’re here,

you’re here – but you’re gone.

Connect with me please.

Never fear to talk,

a bottle under pressure

is about to pop.

You’re gone when you’re here,

you’re here, but you’re gone.

Connect with me please.

Don’t make me think it’s me

when I know it’s not.

I see a door to open,

but it’s locked.

Connections help us feel alive,

alone on an island we cannot thrive –

a river with rocks cannot flow,

keep your connections aglow.

You’re gone when you’re here,

you’re here – but you’re gone.

Connect with me please.

Stay blessed and amazing,

Evana
