What an Amazing Night!

Here I am with two bands at a New Years Eve bash with two smashing cool bands;
“Fools Fait” and “Blackstone Steel.”
Just a few days ago, my friend Denise told me about a really cool gig to go to for New Years Eve, it was way out in the country in the boonies. There would be two bands playing set to set. Immediately I was intrigued and knew this was something different and special that I did not want to miss.

Everything was there – it was like in a dream and I felt like floating on a cloud. There was a lot of room to sit near the food or closer to the bands, one could even watch from above, super cool! It was a lot of fun dancing and just taking it all in. With gobs of friendly people and a welcoming overall feel this was the place to be on New Years Eve for sure!
One highlight very special to me was to meet Rio Doyle up close and personal!!!

Once Fools Fait was finished playing their gig, we heard an announcement about buying raffle tickets. The big prize was a guitar, one that was hanging on the guitarist’s wall upstairs, right there in the barn. and after I hesitated for a while, I got up to buy 5. When I got up to the desk, I couldn’t see a line but then after someone moved, I asked a man standing nearby if he was in line. He said I could go first, he’s a gentlemen. I said “chivalry’s not dead, thanks so much.”
As the night went on it came time to announce the winner of an electric guitar and they called out the first number, oh, dang, I was one number off. But then no one came forward so they drew another one and someone went up but they didn’t have the number, so when they called the third number, it was the very middle number of my five tickets and I couldn’t even believe it!!! To be on the safe side, I kept them all together because I tend to be clumsy and who knows? Knowing me I could have dropped it on the way to the stage or maybe I didn’t read it right.

But YES, it’s true, it was ME!!! Yipeeee!!! I won. That guy came back that let me go ahead of me and said:”I bet you’re happy I let you go ahead of me!”
So that was the story of how I got my guitar, once the guitarist took the guitar off the wall, they commemorated it by signing it with the date and all of the band members of both bands too!
This is a story that doesn’t have to end, now this guitar has already been imagined by me as I wrote a song about a guitar. What it might be like to have one and its called “Me and My Guitar.”

Going forward I am planning to get some friends who are musicians together and perhaps “this is the beginning of something good,” as Daugherty said in a song.

Be blessed and thankful for blessings,
Evana.
