Nature Calls Us, Are We Listening?

Nature has a subtle way

to call on us in its own unique way.

Have you seen that baby deer

that poked its head out of the clear?

Time stands still –

when we allow ourselves to chill.

These are gentle reminders

that we can still be wonder finders –

to not lose track and not forget

to take time to relax;

not strain your mind to its max

and take off those blinders.

In this world where there are plenty lost,

let’s be finders of a new world

in which people

learn and grow kinder,

and decrease the “never minders.”

It’s important that you stay true

and whatever words you say are you,

you need to come to realize

it’s good to cut lies and drop the disguise

no need putting on a facade,

hate to tell you there’s no prize.

It’s good to learn to work things through

which takes much time, it’s hard to do –

but nothing good is done is haste

time spent to grow is not times’ waste.

…The other day,

a white squirrel passed my way

as I was almost to work

to begin my day…

There was a white squirrel

at the edge of the street –

by the tree line

where our eyes me(e)t:

“don’t see me as a threat,

stay aware of your mindset,

you won’t be late don’t sweat,

it’s good to get lost for a sec

you won’t regret,

life is not a game of roulette:

going on a jet, getting out of debt,

what is it that you net?, instead

listen to the simple sounds of nature

they will take you away on any day.

This encounter was free, no need to pay!”

As I’m wading through my stacks of “to-do’s,”

I stop to be calm, it’s like heavenly balm:

I realize I enjoy being part of the news –

my passion of poetry, comedy and the “un-blues,”

is certainly my deepest desire it’s true!

Don’t wait for a blue moon

to listen more and become more attune –

forever it won’t stay the month of June:

Go ahead and use these gentle signs

as a way to take you back

to a much quieter time;

a time when clocks still seemed to go slow,

a time when people were valued much more,

a time when folks would go out the door

because they know there is more

to explore outdoors.

…Enjoy your open doors!

Love, Peace and Kindness,

Evana.
