Wherever the Music Is…

Wherever the Music is...

Wherever the music is,

I will go,

the rhythms, the sounds

draw me near,

the ebb and the flow,

the pounding, the beat,

I am right here –

my legs move, my soul,

my feet.

The world can be spinning

out of control,

what, where, when –

no one knows,

one thing never changes –

I can feel it from my head to my toes.

Here’s an article about the situation surrounding live music, vendors and the industry:

Event Manager on Live Music Industry, Venues’ and Artists’ Community Situation

Jeremy Hurt, Event Manager and WordPress Blogger wrote on May 23rd, 2020: “One thing that I do know for certain, we HAVE to work together to solve this metaphorical Rubik’s Cube that has been placed upon our industry.

We are a community and a family first regardless of how well we may know each other or any past disagreements and we must as one in order to prevail. The future may be completely unknown, but one advantage that gives us is the ability to write it as we seem fit. We can break away from the norms and not be questioned. Anything is and will be possible. So through the tear-blurred vision, I ask of you to join arms with your fellow entertainer, producer, or venue owner and make this future something the world will talk about. I love you all and pray that we overcome this.”

Let Us be Weightless

Imagine yourself a feather,

a cloud –

seeing far above it all,

what’s rare today?

A crowd.

Do you see the peaceful dove?

The eagle flying high above?

Don’t let the rage of the storm

pull you in,

but instead follow the light

towards calm waters.

Keep shining brightly,

Evana.

  1. I’m quite flattered to be quoted in your blog. If you have the opportunity to make it up to Lansing on Sept 19th, I am putting together a free outdoor concert right in the middle of a roundabout, downtown, only a block away from the capitol.

      1. Thanks so much for the invite, unfortunately, I couldn’t make it at the time. I hope you’re doing well and please let me know when your next upcoming performances are so I can come and learn more about your music!
